Kanye West has issued an apology to TV viewers of the Billboard music awards. The rapper has released a statement via his publicist saying that his "grossly over-censored" performance spoiled the experience of the viewers.

"Non-profane lyrics such as "with my leather black jeans on" were muted for over 30 second intervals. As a result, his voice and performance were seriously misrepresented," read the statement issued by the publicist of  "FourFiveSeconds" hit maker.

The rapper also shared the uncensored Billboard performance on his Instagram page for his fans along with the statement. The statement further mentioned that it is ridiculous that an artist has to still fight the unwarranted censorship.

The rapper had performed "All Day" and "Black Skinhead" at the Billboard award night, which was censored heavily for the TV viewers. As a result, a large chunk of audio, reportedly about 5 minutes, of West's performance was muted for TV telecast, leaving the viewers clueless and confused.

Moreover, West, who was earlier advertised as one of the main performers of Sunday's event, was hardly seen on stage in the TV telecast due to the large amount of pyrotechnics. His fans, who were glued to the TV for two hours to catch their favourite performer, were left disappointed, Daily Mail reported.

A report from TMZ further claimed that since the rapper has not rehearsed for his show, the show's organizers were reportedly under prepared and over vigilant which probably led to the chaotic telecast of the rapper's performance.

Also, TV star Kim Kardashian's husband has to face a hostile audience. West, who was joined on stage by Allan Kingdom and Theophilus London, was booed at the start and even at the end of his performance.
