The Golden State Warriors announced that its shooting guard Klay Thompson developed concussion-like symptoms after an accident during Game 5 on May 27, Wednesday, night when the team won over the Houston Rockets.

In the fourth quarter of Game 5, the Houston Rockets' Trevor Ariza accidentally kneed Thompson in the head.

Thompson left the game with a lacerated ear and was cleared to return but he started not feeling well after the victorious game that lifted the Golden State Warriors to the 2015 NBA Finals. At the time, he said he was feeling a little dizzy but he will be all right and will get his health back.

In a statement released by the Golden State Warriors obtained by ABC News, the team said, "Klay Thompson was evaluated by the Warriors medical staff immediately after suffering an injury during tonight's game and was put through a concussion evaluation. At the time, he did not show any concussion-like symptoms."

The Golden State Warriors stated that the team's medical staff will continue to evaluate Thompson after he developed concussion-like symptoms following his team's Game 5 104-90 win over the Houston Rockets. He finished the game with 20 points.

It has been 39 years since the Golden State Warriors made it to the NBA Finals. The 2015 NBA Finals will start on June 4 and Thompson has to pass the concussion protocol before he can return to play.

About the Golden State Warriors' recent victory despite Thompson's injury, guard Shaun Livingston was quoted by Mercury News as saying, "We'll get the champagne out when we take care of business in the finals. Four more to go."
