Fans of "Grey's Anatomy" alum Patrick Dempsey need not worry because there are reports that McDreamy would not quit acting. In fact, a network insider also revealed that the actor could return to primetime in the fall.
In a recent interview with People, Dempsey denied rumors that he will quit acting after he was axed by "Grey's Anatomy" show creator Shonda Rhimes.
According to him, he will not retire from acting just yet even though his schedule at the moment is packed with racing-related activities.
Meanwhile, after Dempsey confirmed that he will not quit acting anytime soon, there were immediate reports suggesting that his fans could see him again on primetime this coming fall.
An insider recently spoke to Entertainment Weekly to confirm that Dempsey is currently doing some rounds to find the best show and network he could join next.
The insider added that Dempsey would not necessarily have any difficulty landing a new show because his involvement on "Grey's Anatomy" contributed to the ABC series' success.
Additionally, the rumors claiming that Dempsey and Rhimes are not in good terms were reported to be just fabricated information to ignite the fire between the two.
In fact, following his exit from "Grey's Anatomy," Rhimes paid a touching tribute to Dempsey and his character Derek and said that no one could replace the actor on the show.
At one point, Rhimes added that Derek will always be a part of her life, the life of fans and the life of everyone else who watches "Grey's Anatomy."
