"Grey's Anatomy" season 11 ended with a cliffhanger in relation to April (Sarah Drew) and Jackson's (Jesse Williams) relationship. Fans are wondering whether or not they have officially ended their marriage, after April told Jackson that she wants to serve in the military.
At that time, Jackson showed his support for April, but gave her an ultimatum that if she were to join the service, she might no longer see him when she gets back.
Following the conclusion of season 11, Drew spoke with Entertainment Weekly to weigh in on the future of her character's relationship with Jackson.
According to Drew, April and Jackson did not break up just yet and the actress said that she is still hopeful the couple could make things work between them, Breathecast reported.
"We have not actually broken up. We are left on the precipice. He has given me an ultimatum that gives us room to figure out what is going to happen next season," she said.
Also according to the actress, April has not made any decision yet following their conversation in season 11. However, she stressed that if April were to make the choice of joining the service, this could definitely end her relationship with Jackson.
"Of course it could. She is left with an impossible decision. She has found this thing that has healed her from the trauma of losing their child. But if she continues to pursue that thing, she loses the love of her life," she said.
Still, Drew is hopeful show creator Shonda Rhimes will give April and Jackson a nice storyline in the upcoming 12th season of "Grey's Anatomy."
