The finale episode of "Grey's Anatomy" season 11 surprisingly ended as calmly as fans could not have imagined it. On Thursday night, Derek Shepherd (Patrick Dempsey) returned on the show and fans immediately thought that he could still be alive.
Unfortunately, this was not obviously the case because Derek only appeared in a series of flashbacks focused on his voicemail messages. However, these flashbacks were never before seen on "Grey's Anatomy," making it a wonderful opportunity for his fans to see him once again in the series.
The touching flashback that starred Derek took place when Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) allowed the former's sister, Amelia (Caterina Scorsone) to listen to the voicemails he left his wife before he passed away.
While holding Owen's (Kevin McKidd) hand, Amelia was saddened, but was obviously pleased to have said her goodbye to him in this way.
Meanwhile, Meredith's life has changed tremendously every since Derek passed away and on Thursday's episode entitled, "You're My Home," Meredith consulted with her "person," Alex, whether or not she should consider selling the house she shared with her late wife.
In other news, April and Jackson's relationship continued to fall apart. This week, April (Sarah Drew) told Jackson (Jesse Williams) that she wanted to go away on another duty because this is what made her feel alive.
Jackson allowed April to pursue what she really wanted to do, but said that if she goes, he will no longer be around to wait for him.
In other news, the 12th season of "Grey's Anatomy" will return in a few months and there are reports that Meredith will be suffering from Alzheimer's, Zap2It reported.
