Moto X and Moto G handsets may receive the latest Android 5.1.1 Lollipop OS update very soon as rumors afloat that the Moto X 2015 launch is set in August.
Motorola is one of Android OEM manufacturers that adopt the latest Android operating system fast and Motorola devices are not behind in getting the perks and features of the new firmware.
Moreover, the first and second generations of Moto X and Moto G recently received the Android 5.1 Lollipop OS in the United States. This means that the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop OS update that fixes the bugs and issues of the Android 5.1. Motorola is currently working on the new version of Android for all its devices.
Meanwhile, Moto X 2015 launch is reportedly set in August. According to Venture Capital Post, the release of the third generation of Motorola's flagship smartphone may happen in August and October.
The new handset will most likely run with the upcoming Android M, which will be announced at Google's I/O tech conference.
The Moto X 2014 was launched in September last year. There is a chance that Motorola wants to release the device earlier to get ahead its rivals Apple and Samsung. The two companies will be releasing their flagship smartphones in September.
According to Android Pit, Moto X 2015 is rumored to pack a 5.2-inch QHD display, Snapdragon 808 processor and 4 GB of RAM, 16 MP back camera and 5 MP selfie shooter, up to 64GB internal storage and 3280 mAh battery.
Aside from Moto X, Motorola is also set to release a new generation of its cheaper Moto G handset this year. However, Lenovo-owned Motorola has not confirmed the aforementioned Moto X 2015 and Moto G 2015 rumors.
