Google Nexus 5 2015 release date may be coming soon as the tech giant will give two-year OS guarantee to Nexus devices.
Android Police cited reliable sources saying that Google will give two-year guarantee for Android OS updates. This means that Nexus devices will receive the succeeding two versions of Google's operating system. The report added that Google devices will be guaranteed to receive security patches for at least 18 months from the date of purchase in the Google Store/Play Store.
This program will also be applied to previous Nexus devices. Unfortunately, Nexus 4, Nexus 10, and Nexus 7 2012 will no longer get Android M, but will still get security updates for a few months, except for Nexus 7 2012.
This new program gives another reason to consumers to buy Nexus devices. More information is expected to surface this week at the announcement of the details of Google I/O conference. Other prime features of the upcoming Android M operating system are native fingerprint sensing technology, better app privacy management and improved voice control.
Meanwhile, Google Nexus 5 2015 release date is expected to happen at Google I/O tech conference. In the past, the tech giant showcases Nexus devices at the said tech event.
Android PIT reported that LG is developing the Nexus 5 2015 and a source allegedly confirmed that the South Korean tech company said that the new Nexus smartphone is still "under consideration". Moreover, Google engineers were reportedly spotted in LG headquarters.
However, it is still unconfirmed which manufacturer will take the helm of Google Nexus 5 2015. Other reports said Huawei, Motorola, and Samsung are among the companies that will work on the new smartphone. Google is yet to make an announcement about the handset.
