`Pitch Perfect 3' Moves Forward; Box-Office Haul of Sequel Ushers Making of 3rd Installment?

Pitch Perfect star Anna Kendrick all set to make Pitch Perfect 3?

The box-office haul of the sequel to the engrossing musical-comedy movie "Pitch Perfect" signals that it may be all systems go for the making of "Pitch Perfect 3."

Even before "Pitch Perfect 2" hit theaters, director Elizabeth Banks and lead stars Anna Kendrick, Rebel Wilson and the other stars were asked if they would take part in a possible third installment. 

Both Banks and Kendrick had expressed that the audiences' reception to "Pitch Perfect 2" will be a key determining factor. Banks, who is busy with numerous projects at the moment, expressed in an interview with Collider that if fans give the sequel a thumbs-up, then she would be happy to look into possible storylines for "Pitch Perfect 3."

"Pitch Perfect 2" opened to highly receptive audiences worldwide, Deadline reported. The movie retained the top spot in the UK, Germany, Ireland, South Africa during the last week of May. This has led fans to speculate that "Pitch Perfect 3" just may move forward.

The original film, which showcased the amazing vocal range of Kendrick, climbed to the top three top-grossing musical comedy flicks ever produced. Popular actresses with comedic flair, like Wilson, also rendered memorable performances. Incidentally, Wilson was reported to be ready to sign on for "Pitch Perfect 3."

Before "Pitch Perfect 2" hit theaters worldwide, Kendrick performed at the 2015 Academy Awards along with other established artists. She also played Cinderella in the big-screen adaptation of the Broadway hit "Into the Woods."

If things go as planned, it may not be long before casting and filming for Pitch Perfect 3 commence. After competing in an international a cappella competition, fans are awaiting with bated breath what will happen next. They are hoping the original cast will still be part of the continuing story of the Bellas.
