"Guardians of the Galaxy 2" is in its early development and director James Gunn has exposed his biggest revelations on his upcoming film.

The director has already finished the first draft of the film and he posted a photo of it on his official Twitter account.

Marvel praised the first draft and said that it was good, leading "Jurassic World" actor Chris Pratt to become teary-eyed. The actor said that the film is so good that he could not wait for people to see it.

Gunn has revealed that "Guardians of the Galaxy 2" will feature fewer characters, as per Cinema Blend. This opposes the trend of introducing new characters in film sequels, such as in James Wan's "Fast and Furious 7."

Superhero films like "Guardians of the Galaxy 2" focus on getting to know more its core characters, than adding more characters, as emphasized by Gunn. This means fans will be following on the journey of Peter Quill, Gamora, Drax, Groot, and Rocket.

Since the events in the film will become more compact, Gunn had no choice but to drop a character he wanted to include in the film.

In May, the director said that another guardian will join the team, but this character was taken out of the plot, as per Screen Rant. Fans may see this "new" guardian in a possible "Guardians of the Galaxy 2".

Also, previous reports have revealed the appearance of Quill's father in the upcoming sequel. However, Gunn has not revealed yet who will play Star-Lord's father and how he will affect the story's plot.

The first film's soundtrack is entitled "Awesome Mix Vol. 1" and it was one of the best elements of the film as it helped present various story tones and character feelings to the audience. Gunn revealed that there is a second volume of the soundtrack, which will be heard in the upcoming movie.

Michael Rooker will also reprise his role as Yondu, Quill's former guardian. This implies that Kraglin, Yondu's first-mate and played by Sean Gunn, will also return in the sequel.

Starring Pratt, "Guardians of the Galaxy 2" will also include Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Bradley Cooper, Vin Diesel.

For now, fans will see Pratt in Colin Trevorrow's upcoming dinosaur sequel "Jurassic World."

"Guardians of the Galaxy 2" is slated to premiere on May 5, 2017 while "Jurassic World" is set to hit theaters on June 12.
