"Guardians of the Galaxy" actor Chris Pratt himself anticipates that the sequel will not be set in Star-Lord's home, the Earth. The "Jurassic World" actor said that he likes the universe and it is the best place to magnify the film's sequel.
Pratt also said that the direction of the film is not onto him and he will go with the flow of the sequel, as per IGN. He added that he does want the Guardians to protect the cosmos and not Cleveland, Ohio. This idea gives justice to the film title "Guardians of the Galaxy" and not "Guardians of the Earth."
Film director James Gunn has also posted a photo on his Twitter account, featuring the movie title and his name. The photo was captioned "Phew. 1st draft #GotG2. #NoSpoilers #NotEventheTitle" and it received more than 3,000 re-tweets and more than 4,000 favorites.
There were also rumors that the Guardians will be joining forces with the Earth's Mightiest Heroes. Pratt said that he has not heard about it and no one has told him about it.
"Guardians of the Galaxy 2" may also link the fans to Joe and Anthony Russo's "Avengers: Infinity War," as the Guardians got the Power Stone from Ronan the Accuser in the film's predecessor, as per Cinema Blend.
Pratt will reprise his role as Peter Quill/ Star-Lord and he will be re-joined by Zoe Saldana's Gamora, Dave Bautista's Drax, Bradley Cooper's Rocket (voice), and Vin Diesel's Groot (voice). For now, fans will see Pratt as Owen Grady, the Velociraptor trainor in Colin Trevorrow's "Jurassic World."
"Avengers: Infinity War - Part I" is set to hit the theaters on May 2, 2018 while "Avengers: Infinity War - Part II" is slated to premiere on May 3, 2019.
Directed by Gunn, "Guardians of the Galaxy 2" is slated to premiere on May 5, 2017 while "Jurassic World" is set to hit the theaters on June 12.
