The new Android 5.1 Lollipop release is in the process of being rolled out for numerous smartphones such as HTC One M8, Xperia series, Moto X (1st and 2nd Gen), Moto G (1st and 2nd Gen), and the Moto E (2nd Gen).
The new Android 5.1 Lollipop update fixes many issues that were present in Android 5.0 like forced reboot and incessant draining of the battery. Numerous apps also used to freeze earlier and the new update handles this issue as well. It also has other new features such as screen passcode, enhanced security and quick settings.
Sony
The Android 5.1 Lollipop release for Sony Xperia Z2 and Xperia Z3 will happen in the next few weeks. The Android Lollipop 5.1 update will also be released for Xperia Z1, Xperia T2, Xperia C3, Xperia M2 and M2 Aqua in July.
HTC
On the other hand, HTC One M8 will also get the Android 5.1 Lollipop update in fall 2015. There is no clarity on whether HTC One M7 will get the latest update or not. Currently, it is running on Android 5.0.2 Lollipop, according to Android Origin.
Motorola
As regards the Motorola phones, the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop update is ready to be rolled out to them. According to Tech Worm, the update will be released to the Moto X (1st and 2nd Gen), Moto G (1st and 2nd Gen), and the Moto E (2nd Gen) as well.
Samsung
Samsung Galaxy Note is already running on the Android 5.0 Lollipop update, but it is about to receive the Android Lollipop 5.1.1 update soon. Currently, the carriers are performing internal tests on the update and will begin to roll it out to the device in July.
The latest release from the Samsung stables, the Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge will also receive the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop update.
