"Duck Dynasty" family, Jep Robertson, has revealed that he had suffered traumatic molestation as a child.
The reality TV personality has written a book, "The Good, the Bad, and the Grace of God: What Honesty and Pain Taught Us About Faith, Family, and Forgiveness," along with his wife Jessica Robertson, in which he claims that he was sexually abused as a child by an elder girl. The incident used to happen in the school bus, when he was in grade school.
"I was 6 and it was on a school bus and it was an older girl," wrote the 37-year-old A&E reality star, further adding that she used to approach him daily and make him touch at inappropriate places. He was also forced to pull down his pants and was "tortured" and "hurt" by the abuser.
The TV star further stated that his efforts to move away from her or to sit near the driver went futile and the abuses continued to happen regularly for a while, Huffington Post reported. He also admitted that he started avoiding schools in the wake of daily torture.
Robertson also believes that his abuser had a traumatic childhood and likely to have suffered a similar kind of sexual abuse.
During his interview with Entertainment Tonight, the father-of-four revealed that he suffered silently through the abuses and did not share anything on the matter with his parents. In an effort to try and bury the experience, Robertson admitted that he later realized how much he was affected by the slew of incidents.
"Duck Dynasty" is a reality TV series which covers the life of the Robertson men, brothers Phil and Si, and Phil's sons Jase, Willie, and Jep, who became wealthy from their family operated business of duck hunting. The family men are known for their long beards and their Christian take on life, .
