"19 Kids And Counting" stars Jessa Seewald, 22, and Jill Dillard, 24, have finally broken their silence and defended their older brother Josh Duggar, 27, in a recent sit-down interview amid the incest and molestation controversy involving him.
On June 5, Friday, Seewald and Dillard spoke to Fox News anchor Megyn Kelly on "The Kelly File," where they emphasized that they were unaware of the sexual abuse Duggar had done to them until their brother confessed to their parents, who then spoke to them about his behavior at the time.
Giving details to the sexual abuse she and her sister experienced at the hands of their brother, Seewald told Kelly, "Like in Josh's case, he was a boy, a young boy in puberty and a little too curious about girls and that got him into some trouble, and he made some bad choices."
"But really, the extent of it was mild, inappropriate touching, on fully clothed victims, most of it while girls were sleeping" Seewald said in "The Kelly File."
For Seewald, it is right for people to stand for their values and for what they believe even if they have made stupid mistakes or failures. She added that having had failures in the does not mean a person cannot be changed.
"I think that's where, I think the real issue is people are making this sound like it happened yesterday," said the fifth of the "19 Kids And Counting" children who got married to Ben Seewald, 20, on Nov. 2014. Their courtship started on Sept. 16, 2013 and they got engaged on Aug. 15, 2014.
