The latest Android M update release is expected around the third quarter of 2015. It is going to be released for a number of Samsung devices, namely Samsung Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 Edge, S6 Duos amongst others.

Android M features include enhanced battery life and has numerous stability and usability improvements. App permissions have also been simplified to a great extent in the new OS update, according to PC Advisor. Android M will come with Android Pay, which will allow the users to pay for goods and services via NFC.

The list of the Samsung devices, which will first receive the OS are: Samsung Galaxy Note 4, Galaxy Note Edge, Galaxy Note 4 Duos, Galaxy Tab A and Galaxy ALPHA.

Samsung Galaxy S5 is a significant omission in the first list and it is expected to get the Android M update later, according to YouMobile.

According to reports, Samsung is planning to release the update to all its devices before the year-end. Thus, the company has three months to roll out the release to its flagship devices, if it wants to adhere to the schedule.

Samsung Galaxy Note 5 is rumored to be released in September. However, it does not look likely that the phablet will be released with Android M OS. As Samsung will need to perform comprehensive tests before the latest Android update release, so it is planning to release Samsung Galaxy Note 5 with Android Lollipop.
