"Bad Blood" singer Taylor Swift recently pulled out her album "1989" from Apple Music because the company is not paying artists and producers for song plays during the three-month trial period.
On her Tumblr page, Swift announced her album "1989" would not be available for streaming in protest of Apple's decision, which she described "shocking" and "disappointing."
According to Swift, she does realize that Apple is working towards a goal of paid streaming and she sees a "beautiful progress" as Apple Music claims that the company's passion for music is a force that has driven and inspired them from day one and they have set out to make it better.
On the other hand, Swift wrote, "We know how astronomically successful Apple has been and we know that this incredible company has the money to pay artists, writers and producers for the 3 month trial period even if it is free for the fans trying it out."
Still, the seven-time Grammy winner acknowledged that she personally could absorb the loss in revenues but she was speaking on behalf of other artists and producers that would not be able to afford the loss.
"These are not the complaints of a spoiled, petulant child," Swift said. "These are the echoed sentiments of every artist, writer and producer in my social circles who are afraid to speak up publicly because we admire and respect Apple so much."
Currently, Swift's "1989" album is at number two at the Billboard 200 chart behind Muse's album "Drones."
