Amidst the Moto X 2013 Android 5.1 OS update roll out, there is a chance that Motorola DROID Turbo Android 5.1 Lollipop OS update will no longer happen.

A lot of users were disappointed since Motorola has not released the Lollipop OS for the DROID Turbo yet. According to Autoomobile, Motorola DROID Turbo will skip Android 5.1 Lollipop OS and will jump directly to Android M operating system. The smartphone is currently running with Android Kitkat OS.

However, Motorola has not announced its plans on Moto DROID Turbo.

Currently, the tech company is rolling out the Android 5.1 OS update for unlocked versions of Moto X 2013 in US, Brazil, and Canada.

"I am pleased to announce that we have started full deployment of the 5.1 Android Lollipop upgrade for Moto X (1st Gen) for US Retail, Brazil Retail and Rogers in Canada," Motorola's Senior Director of Software Product Management David Schuster announced in his Google+ account.

Thanks to Android 5.1 Lollipop OS update, the first generation of Moto X now enjoys a myriad of new features like Quick Setting, Material Design, screen pinning and viewing of apps, Smart Lock, multi-tasking and more.

Meanwhile, Motorola reportedly halted the soak test of Android 5.1 in Moto X 2014 as an issue was encountered by developers. However, the said issue was resolved and internal testing has been carried out. Shuster confirmed that if all goes well, the update will also arrive to users in the coming days.

Motorola will begin the soak test in Italy, Hong Kong, Australia, Malaysia, The Netherlands, Belgium, etc. The update is expected to roll out soon.
