Android M Developer Preview Now Available for Sony Xperia Devices: Learn How to Install It

Xperia is a family of smartphones and tablets from Sony.

Android M Developer Preview is now available for Sony Xperia users for testing. 

Users can install Android M Developer Preview into their device using Sony's Open Device Program. This preview will provide the developers with the tools that are required to get ready for the full version of Android 6.0, according to The Latinos Post.

A number of changes will be seen in this new upgrade including API behavioral adjustments and a new permission system which will let the users to manage the app permissions during the runtime, according to The Xperia Blog.

In the meantime, Google is urging the users to test their apps before the official launch of the full version of Android M in order to observe the recent adjustments and also check for compatibility. Users can check the "AOSP M" Developer Preview manual and download the same on their device. The Sony device must include an unlocked boot loader for the preview version to work.

Sony is also providing build instructions in this AOSP project to give the custom ROM developers a preview of the current version of Android. At the moment, the API levels are at the Lollipop MR1 stage.

Sony also released a video on their official website, which shows how the contacts, dialer window, notification shade new icons and the recent apps will be affected in the new OS.

This developer's preview will be helpful in becoming familiar with the functionality of Android M before it is officially released. It will most likely to be released within the next three months.
