With the sequel still two years away from its release, the 2014's superhit film "Guardians of the Galaxy" eventually gets a new title "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2," as revealed by "Guardians of Galaxy" director James Gunn.
During the movie "Ant Man" press meet, Gunn revealed the name of his next movie, which is "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2." He stated there was some apprehension in the beginning when he broke the news on Twitter.
"Yes, the official title for the @Guardians sequel is GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 2. Nice detective work, @colliderfrosty, etc! You got us!" Gunn tweeted on June 29, Monday. He followed it with another tweet saying, "Okay, I'm not being sarcastic, guys. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 IS truly the title."
Since the tweet came off as rather scornful, Gunn later wrote on Facebook "Yes, the official title of the sequel to Guardians of the Galaxy is Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. Kevin Feige recently let the title slip while doing Ant-Man press, which I'm really happy about because God knows I've let more than one thing slip accidentally while chattering away on this FB page."
"Also, hats off to some intrepid fans who figured out the title a couple of days after I posted the cover page," Gunn continued. "More than one person guessed "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" - I wanted so badly to give you props at the time, but knew I had to wait. For Kevin to mess up. Haha. PS ANT-MANPREMIERE TONIGHT AND I AM STOKED!"
Meanwhile, "Guardians Of The Galaxy" star Chris Pratt is engaged with another franchise and all set to make another history. He is one of the lead actors of "Jurassic World" which is dominating the box-office for the last three weeks in a row.
While "Jurassic World" has earned a whopping $1.2 billion across the globe, the first part of "Guardians of the Galaxy" movie had grossed $774 million around the world. Pratt seems to be on a roll with such huge profits registered.
To be released in 2017, "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" is all set to be shot in London between February and March 2016. The sequel was originally declared as "Guardians of the Galaxy 2" at the Comic Con in 2014.
