NBA Rumors 2015: Knicks Favored to Nab Pistons' Greg Monroe and Magic's Arron Aflalo

The New York Knicks are the likely destination for free agents Greg Monroe and Arron Aflalo and are targeting New Yorkers Danny Green and Tobias Harris.

The Detroit Pistons' Monroe is expecting to command a maximum deal while Afflalo could earn between $36 million-$38 million in a 3-year deal.

In addition to the Knicks, the Los Angeles Lakers, Portland Trail Blazers, Milwaukee Bucks, Boston Celtics, and are also pursuing Monroe.

Monroe has indicated he wants to go a team that's ready to win. 

He averaged  15.9 points and 10.2 rebounds  for the Pistons last season.

Carmelo Anthony has been communicating with free-agent guard Arron Afflalo, who averaged 13.3 points on the past season playing for the Denver Nuggets. 

The Knicks are hoping to add shooting guards following the trade of Tim Hardaway Jr. 

They only three guards under contract, namely: Jose Calderon, Jerian Grant, and Langston Galloway.

The 6-foot-6 Green, who is from Long Island, averaged 14.7 points and hit 41.8 percent of his 3-point attempts last season for the San Antonio Spurs. He is also a good defender.

The Detroit Pistons and Sacramento Kings have also expressed interest in Green. Many other teams are also expected to vie for his services being one of the most valuable free agents on the market. 

The Knicks are also scheduled to meet with Wesley Matthews.

Tobias Harris has been "in the conversation" with members of the Knicks organization on a possible deal.

However, Magic general manager Rob Hennigan said they plan to match any offer to Harris.
Harris could allow Anthony to play at power forward.

The Knicks outscored opponents by 5.7 points per 48 minutes when Anthony is at power forward while they were outscored by 7.2 points per 48 minutes if he plays  small forward in 2014-15.
