EA Announces Star Wars Battlefront Reveal

The creation of "Star Wars Battlefront" had more challenges than just being faithful in delivering a Star Wars experience to players and long-time fans. This is something that developer DICE had struggled with in the process of creating the game.

With the "Battlefield" reputation under its name, the developer also now had a new audience that it needed to fulfil, which is the "Star Wars" community. And the reveal of some of the details of "Star Wars Battlefront" did not help, The Guardian reported.

Comparisons between the old Battlefront game as well as DICE"s long-time franchise "Battlefield" did not make it any easier in creating the new title. This added to the fuel of fan concerns as to the lack of space battles, few characters and lack of a single-player mode. The developer admitted to becoming intimidated with the entire project.

"We had enough in our pipeline to be able to say no. But on the other hand, your heart is screaming yes, because of course, you want to make a Star Wars game," said DICE's Patrick Bach to The Guardian.

For now, select players are enjoying the closed alpha testing of "Star Wars Battlefront." Despite DICE's and EA's warnings about leaking the contents of the ongoing alpha, there have been numerous videos appearing online that showcase what can be found in the beta run.

The most recent is a string of screenshots that show off the Hoth battles. Even better is that the screenshot, courtesy of All Games Beta, link, feature 4K ultra settings, so the amount of detail and clarity is at its finest as what can be offered by the current build.

Most of the sceneries are of the icy and mountainous wasteland. But the gigantic AT-ATs, flying vehicles and other buildings can also be seen in some screenshots.

"Star Wars Battlefront" is slated for release on the PS4, Xbox One and PC on Nov. 17. DICE has also announced that a free DLC pack as well as paid expansions will come out after launch.
