Innovations in China's science and technology field can help take the country to greater heights, according to Premier Li.

Information science majors are the highest paid college graduates, according to a recent survey. The study showed that college graduates who obtained a bachelor’s degree in the field received 4,846 yuan or $780 a month, while master’s degree holders earn 7,400 yuan a month.

These are just some of the findings included in the 2014 College Graduates' Employment Quality Report, a study released by New Jincin, a Beijing-based education consulting and technology company. 300,000 e-mail questionnaires were sent out by the company, and in return researchers received 98,000 responses from 1,300 higher education institutes across the country.

Professionals from the real estate and finance industries closely follow information science graduates in the earnings department.

Finance graduates, on the other hand, were revealed to be most satisfied with their salary; 43.82 percent of finance majors are happy with their earnings.

"The results show that the information science and finance industries offer the most competitive salaries and promising futures, which matches China's Internet Plus action plan," said Zhang Jingxiu, New Jincin Research Institute's executive director.

Graduates who work in the government sector are at the top of the employment satisfaction list, the report also showed, with 70 percent of graduates working for the government satisfied with their jobs.

Employment is a major national concern as 7.27 million college students graduated last year, and 2015 saw 7.49 million college students obtain college degrees this year. However, the report shows that the employment rate surpassed 90 percent last year.

"It is a global strategy to take six months after graduation to survey graduates' employment quality, which allows more time for graduates to find jobs and researchers to analyze data," said Zhang.

As for vocational school graduates, 90.93 percent of them were able to land jobs. They receive 2,848 yuan a month.
