The United States officials recently disclosed that the country is now accepting applicants for employment of spouses of H-1B visa of non-immigrant workers who were not given permission to work ever since they got in the U.S.

The spouses of non-immigrant workers who are current H-1B visa holders will now be given a chance to apply and work in the country.  The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has already started accepting applications for H-4 visas on Tuesday, NDTV Profit reported.

This legislative action was made by the President of the United States Barrack Obama to amend the immigration system in America. An Employment Authorization Card (EAD) will be issued to spouses of the workers with an H-1B visa.

Around 180,000 spouses who have never worked before in the country will be given eligibility to work legally in the U.S. because of this new policy which was recently released.

The DHS will be releasing EADs of applicants who applied within 90 days upon their submission of the application forms.

The current system does not allow spouses of workers with non-immigrant H-1B visa holders to work in the country.  These spouses are currently holding an H-4 non-immigrants visa at this time. This new rule which was approved by the U.S. president will allow them to finally apply and gain normal employment within the country provided that their spouses who carry the H-1B visas have legally applied already for a permanent residency in the country through his employment, according to The Economic Times.
