The Audi R8 was launched in 2008 and it quickly gained a following within the mid-engine car market. The introduction of the 2017 Audi R8 has led many car enthusiasts to believe that this may be the best car in the R8 series.
The 2017 Audi R8 will hit the market in the spring of 2016, according Auto Blog. The car will be available in two model, the standard Audi R8 V10 and the R8 V10 Plus.
Both Audi R8 V10 and the R8 V10 Plus has a gasoline engine equipped with dry sump lubrication, four valve technology, gasoline direct injection and DOHC cylinder head. Both models has a 5,204 cc displacement.
The Audi R8 V10 has a maximum power output of 540 horsepower rated at 7,800 rpm. The R8 V10 Plus model on the other hand has a max power output of 610 horsepower at 8,250 rpm.
The Audi R8 V10 has a maximum recorded torque of 398.3 pounds-per-foot at 6,500 rpm while the R8 V10 Plus has 413 pounds-per-foot at 6,500 rpm.
The Audi R8 V10 has a top speed of 198.8mph and can reach 62mph in 3.5 seconds. The Audi R8 V10 Plus has a maximum recorded speed of 205.1mph and can reach 62mph in 3.2 seconds.
The two new 2017 Audi R8 models may have a lot of difference in the engine aspect but the two supercar shares almost the same interior specs.
The two 2017 Audi R8 models has the new MMI system which runs their infotainment system mounted on the instrument panel. It has a 12.3-inch display with 1440 x 540 high resolution display. The display is powered by an Nvidia Tegra 30 processor and has 2GB of RAM to help process 3D graphics.
According to Yahoo! Autos, the 2017 Audi R8 is estimated to fetch a price tag of around $165,000 to $185,000.
