"Star Wars" actor Mark Hamill has taken to Twitter to share his reaction to the racy magazine cover of "Trainwreck" star Amy Schumer with a "Star Wars" theme. He joked that he thought the controversial photo taken by Mark Seliger was a casting announcement.

"Got excited when I saw @amyschumer @GQMagazine pics & thought she was just cast in Ep 8! We should be so lucky," Hamill tweeted referring to the cover of the August issue of GQ featuring the "Trainwreck" star with C-3PO and R2-D2

In the photo, Schumer is seen sucking on the finger of the golden protocol droid, which apparently was not authorized by Lucasfilm.

In a statement obtained by Entertainment Weekly, the film company's public relations representatives said, "It's not surprising that GQ would want to capitalize on the cultural cachet of 'Star Wars,' but Lucasfilm and Disney did not authorize, participate in or condone the inappropriate use of our characters in this manner."

The release of the controversial magazine cover was in time with Schumer's film "Trainwreck," which hit theaters on July 17. The comedy film written by Schumer and directed by Judd Apatow also stars Bill Hader, Brie Larson, John Cena and LeBron James, among others.

Meanwhile, Hamill is reprising his roles as Luke Skywalker in the upcoming film "Star Wars: Episode VII- The Force Awakens," which is set to hit theaters in the United States on Dec. 18.

Directed by J.J. Abrams, "Star Wars: Episode VII- The Force Awakens" also stars Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Gwendoline Christie, Domhnall Gleeson, Oscar Isaac, Andy Serkis and Simon Pegg, among others.
