Samsung Galaxy Tab S2

Samsung finally released the much awaited Galaxy Tab S2 boating fair specs and features.

Samsung silently announced the Samsung Galaxy Tab S2. Its early release ahead of other rumored tablets is reportedly an advantage since it will not clash with other tablets overshadowing its launch.

However, Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 will battle against Microsoft Surface Pro 4, which will be announced later this month. Although other reports claimed that the Surface Pro 4 will be launched in October, it will be a strong contender in the tablet market.

Below is the comparison of the official specs of Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 and the rumored features of Microsoft Surface Pro 4.

Screen Display

Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 packs 8-inches and 9.7-inches screen variants with QuadHD resolution and 4:3 aspect ratio apt for business and educational purposes. Meanwhile, Microsoft Surface Pro 4 is rumored to pack a 12-inch screen display with 2K pixel resolution. Other reports claimed that the laplet will arrive in variants or models sporting different screen sizes.

Processor

Samsung's latest tablet is powered by Exynos 533 octa-core processor and is expected to be deliver faster and smoother performance, while Microsoft's device will reportedly pack either a "Broadwell" or "Skylake" processor.

Operating System

It is quite a disappointment that Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 was released with Android 5.0 Lollipop OS out-of-the-box with TouchWiz on top. Microsoft Surface Pro 4 will run with Windows 10 operating system.

Storage

Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 will include 32GB or 64GB internal storage with microSD slot of up to 128GB. Microsoft Surface Pro 4 will most likely follow the storage variants of the previous Surface Pro 3.

Other Features

One of the advantages of Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 is that it comes pre-loaded with Microsoft's apps onto the tablets at purchase and ready to use upon being powered on, including OneDrive with a free 100GB of cloud storage for two years. Microsoft Surface Pro 4, on the other hand, will come with detachable keyboard and stylus.
