There are considerable differences between the best 2015 tablets - Google Nexus 9, iPad Air 2, and Samsung Galaxy Tab S as outlined below.

Best Features

The iPad Air 2 and Galaxy Tab S have a fingerprint scanner that puts them ahead of the Nexus 9 from Google. On the other hand, Nexus 9 is unique because of its near-field communication that facilitates file transfer and making of payments.

According to Cnet, the Nexus 9 is the best choice for Android fans because the device comes with Android 5.0 Lollipop, which is a refreshing innovation feature in the modern flat aesthetic.

Best Design

The iPad Air 2 is 1.4mm slimmer and 32g lighter than its precursor Air and has a sleek aluminum case in addition to the ergonomic design, which gives it a competitive advantage over the other two tablets.

When the Galaxy Tab came out, it was popular because of the thin and light design making it easy to operate with one or two hands. The Nexus 9 twist from the previous Nexus models, especially the thin bezel, polished metal sides, and a smooth grip back apart from coming in different colors (Indigo Black, Lunar White, and Sand), makes the device exceptional.

Best Processor Memory

There are minimal differences among the three devices when it comes to their processor memory. While the iPad Air 2 runs on an A8X processor with 64-bit design, the Galaxy Tab S has an Exynos 5 Octa 5420 SoC processor the runs on 1.9 GHz quad-core Cortex-A15, and the Google Nexus 9 runs on a Tegra K1 that has a processor with 2.3 dual-core Denver under the cover.

About their memory, iPad Air 2 has 16Bg, 64GB, and 128GB storage choices, whereas the Galaxy Tab S and Nexus 9 come with 16GB and 32GB. Tab S has a provision for expansion of up to 128GB through a microSD slot.

Best Battery Life

According to Tech Radar, Samsung Galaxy Tab S has an impressive battery life whereby it can claim 12 hours of video playback and 10 hours of web browsing through Wi-Fi.

The Nexus 9 has a better battery life than iPad Air 2. Comparing the two tablets through a 90-minute Full HD video test, the Nexus 9 battery goes down to 82 percent while iPad's reduces to 79 percent.
