Athlete Ronda Rousey wants to play the role of Captain Marvel.

UFC fighter and actress Ronda Rousey expressed her interest on playing the role of Captain Marvel.

Rousey has recently shared a photo on her official Instagram account. The images are edited photos of her as Captain Marvel, made by contributing artists @bosslogix, @salman.artworks, and @alexmurilloart, whom she tagged and acknowledged on her post. Her photo has got more than 2,000 likes and 2,000 comments.

The edited photos of Rousey as the Marvel superhero were made by the artists following her interview with Reddit AMA, in which she was asked to name a superhero she would like to portray in a film. She said that since several good superheroes had already been engaged, she would like to play Miss Marvel.

Considering her athletic profile, Rousey is recognized for her roles in various films of the action genre, such as Cesar Lazcano's drama film "American Judoka," Patrick Hughes action film "The Expendables 3," James Wan's action-car racing film "Fast and Furious 7," and Doug Ellin's comedy film "Entourage." She is set to appear in Peter Berg's upcoming action film "Mile 22" in 2016.

"Captain Marvel" follows Carol Danvers who obtains superpowers after she got involved in the explosion of a portion of Kree technology. As a superhero and member of the Avengers, Captain Marvel possesses boosted strength, toughness, and the ability to fly and discharge energy blasts.

In consort with Rousey, other names who have been involved to play the Captain Marvel's role take in Katheryn Winnick, Jessica Chastain, Emily Blunt, and Bryce Dallas Howard. With her combat skills, Rousey has the upper hand to become the titular superhero in the first female led film in Marvel's Cinematic Universe, filling a potential gap that will be left by other Marvel stars, as per Cinema Blend.

At this time, the director, the cast members, as well as the exact plot details are yet to be revealed. "Guardians of the Galaxy" writer Nicole Perlman and "Inside Out" writer Meg LeFuave are on board to pen the screenplay of the film.

Marvel's "Captain Marvel" is set to premiere in theaters in the United States on Nov. 2, 2018.
