"The Age of Adaline" actress Blake Lively is set to be part of Jaume Collet-Searra's upcoming shark-centered film "In The Deep."
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Lively's availability for the film is still unknown as the actress' schedule is in clash with an untitled Woody Allen project, which premieres next year. Furthermore, the actress has not given confirmation on whether she can film both films or not.
Aside from Lee Toland Krieger's romantic-drama film "The Age of Adaline," Lively is also known for her roles in Stephanie Savage and Josh Schwartz's romantic drama series "Gossip Girl," Martin Campbell's superhero film "Green Lantern," and Oliver Stone's crime-thriller "Savage." The actress is also set to appear in Marc Fosters' drama thriller "All I See Is You."
Set in a remote area, "In The Deep" follows a young woman who is run aground on a buoy, along with a great white shark ringing the water between her and the shore. According to Cinema Blend, the film shares some elements with Johannes Robert's "47 Meters Down," which centers on two sisters trapped in a shark observation cage at the bottom of the ocean.
Collet-Serra, who directed "Orphan," "unknown," and "Run All Night," is set to helm the upcoming shark film. Known for writing the script for Marty Weiss' horror-thriller TV movie "Backwoods" and Brad Anderson's mystery-thriller "Vanishing on 7th Street," Anthony Jaswinski is on board to pen the screenplay. Lynn Harris, Matti Leshem, and Douglas Merrifield will co-produce the forthcoming film.
With the film in its early phase of development, Lively's confirmation, addition cast members, exact plot details, and the release date are yet to be revealed.
