‘Suicide Squad’: Can Margot Robbie As Harley Quinn Pass As A Tattoo Artist?

| Aug 20, 2015 07:52 AM EDT

Margot Robbie will play the role of Harley Quinn in David Ayer's "Suicide Squad."

"Focus" actress Margot Robbie has shown her tattooing skills in the set of David Ayer's upcoming "Suicide Squad."

Ayer has tweeted a photo on his official Twitter account. It showed Robbie in her Harley Quinn costume putting tattoo "SKWAD" on his left forearm, as if she was a tattoo artist. Some fans could not believe what they saw while some gave appreciative comments on Ayer's photo. The photo got more than 7,000 retweets and more than 11,000 favorites.

According to Cinema Blend, Robbie's serious look in Ayer's photo implies that she was not in character while applying the tattoo to the "Suicide Squad" director. If she had been in character as Quinn, she would have been hooting like a maniac.

It is possible that there was some touch of Quinn in Ayer's tattoo, as the spelling for the word "Squad" was misspelled. This could be an allusion to Quinn's dubious spelling skills, as per The Hollywood Reporter. Should Quinn want to become a professional tattoo artist, her tattoo parlour could be easily established, just like in Ayer's other photo on Aug. 18, showing her possible parlour poster.

Similar to Zack Snyder's "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice," Ayer's "Suicide Squad" is also set to feature a dark tone. Ayer's film serves as the villain counterpart of Snyder's film, with its tagline saying "Justice has a bad side."

Aside from Robbie, "Suicide Squad" also stars Jared Leto, Will Smith, Jai Courtney, Adam Beach, Cara Delevingne, Karen Fukuhara, Adawale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Joel Kinnaman, Jay Hernandez, Common, Viola Davis, and Scott Eastwood, among others.

Ayer's "Suicide Squad" is set to hit the big screen on Aug. 5, 2016. Watch the official trailer here:
