Fan Bingbing Is World's Fourth Highest Paid Actress: Forbes

Chinese A-list star Fan Bingbing is the only non-American in Forbes' list of the world's highest paid actresses of 2015.

According to Forbes' list of the world's highest paid actresses of 2015, China's Fan Bingbing occupied the fourth spot, with a total paycheck worth $21 million.

Fan made a record-breaking achievement being the only non-American who made it on the prestigious list.

Known to the Western entertainment scene for her role in "X-Men: Days of the Future Past," Fan has made a big name in the local industry with her appearances in various domestic productions, such as "The White-Haired Witch of Lunar Kingdom."

Fan also received huge sums of money from different endorsement deals with world-famous brands, including L'Oreal and Chopard.

The list was topped by "The Hunger Games" star Jennifer Lawrence, $52 million in pre-tax earnings for the last 12 months.

Lawrence's earnings was greatly higher than runner-up's Scarlett Johansson, who earned $35.5 million.

Meanwhile, 2014's top-earner, "Gravity" star Sandra Bullock, saw a whopping plummet in her paycheck, from $51 million to $8 million.

Other Hollywood A-listers who made it in the list pay their success to their indie film performances. These include Kristen Stewart, who landed on the ninth spot with $12 million, and Emma Stone, the world's number 16 with $6.5 million.

The Forbes ranking shows that actresses still earn less than actors. Compared with 21 actors who posted paychecks above $20 million dollars, only four females from the entertainment industry made such feat.

In a 2013 interview with Forbes Sony's former co-chair Amy Pascal, those top female stars "get paid the same thing as their male counterparts."

Nonetheless, "the problem is the averages don't work because there are not enough parts for women to star in for them to get paid," she pointed out.
