Forbes’s celebrity listee Fan Bingbing secures her spot in China’s leading homegrown stars, after getting several movie projects this year.
After her "Ever Since We Love" movie earned more than $11 million in its opening weekend in April, Fan stays active with three more movies on the way.
The 33-year-old TV producer and actress is now working on three upcoming movies: "The Moon and The Sun," "The Lady in the Portrait" and "Lady of the Dynasty."
‘The Moon and the Sun" is a U.S. fantasy movie inspired by a novel. Fan will play the role of a mermaid who was captured by King Louis XIV, played by Pierce Brosnan.
At a recent media event, Fan said that she got involved in the movie because the producers wanted a mermaid with an oriental face.
In "The Lady in the Portrait," Fan will play the role of Ulanara, the Step Empress. The Sino-French collaboration revolves around the conflicts during the Qing Dynasty.
Meanwhile, Fan’s "Lady of the Dynasty" will be released on July 30. She played as Yang Guifei, the emperor’s love interest in the epic romance war film.
Aside from three movies, Fan is also currently filming for the upcoming movie "Skiptrace" with Jackie Chan and American actor Johnny Knoxville. In the action comedy film by Renny Harlin, Fan plays as Samantha, Benny’s (Jackie Chan) niece.
The award-winning actress also showed interest for the lead role in "The Sojourner," a Sino-U.S. production. The film was adapted from Geling Yan’s novel bearing the same title.
