Switched at Birth

"Switched at Birth" executive producer Lizzy Weiss recently talked about the upcoming fourth season of the hit ABC Family series.

In an interview with TV Line, Weiss said that season 4 will focus on Bay's struggle to get over the love of her life, Emmett. The season will also introduce a new love interest for Daphne and one of the cast members will become a parent.

According to Weiss, Bay would not be able to cope with Emmett's decision to exit from her life. Weiss added that Bay will be confused for the most part of season 4 because she will have difficulty understanding why her relationship with Emmett had to end.

Meanwhile, Weiss hinted on the possibility of Bay getting back up on her feet. Although she said that this will not happen within the first ten episodes of season 4. Bay will also continue to deal with the aftermath of the sexual assault she filed against Ty.

In other news, Daphne's relationship with Mingo will continue to improve in season 4. Weiss said that it is important for her to be able to give the character a healthy relationship in the upcoming installment. However, this does not mean that there would not be any roadblocks for the couple.

Talking about the controversial pregnancy storyline, Weiss said that it will be a huge part of season 4. She added that it is so unexpected, but it will help define the concept of family on the show, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

"Switched at Birth" season 4 airs Monday nights on ABC Family.
