The most recent major Android update is Android 5.0 "Lollipop", which was released on November 3, 2014.

Samsung Galaxy Note 4 users can now avail of the updated Android 5.1.1 Lollipop. Sprint is delivering the newest Android Lollipop via over the air update, while other carriers are also expected to take advantage of the latest Lollipop craze.

When Android 5.0 was first introduced by Google, they made it available via over the air update through some of the carriers as well as other handset product services. However, instead of delivering enhanced performance of the device, smartphone users are experiencing various problems including bug issues.

Android 5.1 Lollipop update has addressed all of these concerns, promising improvements in stability combined with enhanced features.

Samsung has already scheduled the Android 5.1.1 lollipop update for the phablet. Samsung Galaxy Note 4 users who would like to avail of the updated firmware can now download it. Android XDA gave the instructions on how to get the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop N910T3UV1DOFC OTA on to the Galaxy Note 4. On the other hand, Sprint has listed to deliver the OTA update of Android 5.1 Lollipop so users will just have to wait for the update to appear on their notification tray. Meanwhile, US carriers such as Verizon, AT&T, and T-Mobile are rolling out the Android 5.0 Lollipop in their Samsung Galaxy Note 4 devices and users are not happy about it.

Samsung's newest handsets Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge Plus, along with Samsung Galaxy Note 5, will also be equipped with the Android 5.1 Lollipop. Other carriers are also expected to deliver Android 5.1 Lollipop update to Samsung Galaxy Note 4 in the near future.
