PlayStation Celebrates 20 Years With Anniversary Sale As New PS4 Titles Launch

PlayStation VR is a virtual reality headset used for gaming.

PlayStation fans have been enjoying Sony's original console for 20 years now. And to celebrate the two-decade anniversary, Sony has announced one of the biggest sales of the year. The 20th Anniversary Sale for the PS4 will see up to 70 percent discount on select PlayStation games, while loyal PlayStation Plus members will get better deals of up to 80 percent slashed off the games' price tags.

The long and comprehensive list of titles offered in the anniversary sale is listed over at the PlayStation Blog. But whatever type of game players prefer, there is sure to be a title that's up every player's alley, PlayStation Lifestyle reported. There are even some offers for the like of the PlayStation One Classics, PlayStation Portable Games and PlayStation Minis.

PS3 players will get the brunt of the offers, as the list is predominantly offered for PS3 players with cross-buys for the PS Vita and PSP. Players on the PS4 will get some sweet deals for rather big games.

COD fans can get the "Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare" Digital Pro Edition ($68.99) and "Call of Duty: Ghosts" Digital Hardened Edition ($58.99).  Indie gamers can also take their pick from the likes of "Q*bert Rebooted" ($6), "Guacamelee! Super Turbo Championship Edition" ($7.50) and "Knack" ($20), PlayStation Blog reported.

Other PS4 selections worth checking out include "Diablo III: Reaper of Souls Ultimate Evil Edition ($34.79), "Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn Collector's Edition" ($31.99), "Metro Redux" ($17.50) and "Resident Evil Revelations 2" Episode 1 ($3).

This is not the only thing that's coming to PlayStation players. A couple of new titles are dropping into the PlayStation Store, starting with the eight titles debuting on the PS4.

The titles include "Tearaway Unfolded," "Tearaway Unfolded Soundtrack," "Arcade Archives A-Jax," Hyper Void," "Beyond Eyes," "Ascendant," "Broken Sword 5" and "Leo's Fortune." PS Vita players, on the other hand, can choose between "Fat City" and "One Piece Pirate Warriors 3."

Preorders and demos are also already available. The latest expansion for "The Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt," titled "Hearts of Stone" can be preordered for $9.99. "Darksiders II Deathinitive Edition" and "Transformers Devastation," $29.99 and $49.99 respectively, are also out for the PS4. Players who want to sample the upcoming "FIFA 16" from EA can also try the demo, available for the PS4 and PS3.
