Microsoft to Launch Surface Pro 4, New Lumia Phones On October Event

Microsoft Oct. 6 event will unveil Surface Pro 4, Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL.

Microsoft has started sending out invitations to media and analysts for their Oct. 6 event to be held in New York City, anticipating the the launch of next-generation Surface Pro.

Stated in the invitation, the company is excited to share exciting news about Windows 10 devices. A Microsoft spokeswoman also said that the event will be live-streamed to the general public, according to ComputerWorld. Just like any tech companies, Microsoft sent a cryptic invitation in revealing the successor to the Surface Pro 3

The October event is expected to launch Microsoft’s new Surface Pro 4, Lumia 950/Lumia 950 XL handsets, and a new Microsoft Band. The release Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL is a promise by CEO Satya Nadella in continuing to compete in limited areas of the device market. Also, the company will be releasing a mysterious Windows 10-powered hardware.

Earlier, specifications and images for Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL have already leaked and the upcoming event will reveal how it will fit into Microsoft's new Windows 10 Mobile ecosystem. Surface Pro 4 is also rumored to look like Surface Pro 3; however, it will contain the ewer Skylake processor and native Windows 10 integration, The Verge reported.

Surface Pro 4 is reportedly to be thinner and lighter compared to the previous version. It is also rumored that the company will have a Windows Hello support for the Surface Pro 4, and a fingerprint scanner will be integrated on the updated and refined Surface keyboard.

Microsoft officially launched Windows 10 in July, and it is designed to work on smartphones, laptops, and desktops. This move of the Redmond-based tech giant is to win back customers’ favor for their tablets and mobile lineup.
