After Microsoft Surface Pro 3's successful run, fans are eager to get firsthand taste of the next iteration, Surface Pro 4. Anticipated to be released in October, the Surface Pro 4 will likely come with improved specs as compared to its precursor.
The Microsoft tablet is rumored to come in two display variants of 14 inches and 12 inches, both pegged to come with support for 2160 × 1440 pixels screen resolution, Digitimes reported.
Surface blog also revealed that the accessories for the predecessor Surface Pro 3, including Type Covers and docking station, will be supported by the new generation of the Pro tablet.
The next generation of Surface Pro tablet will run on the new generation Skylake processors. Intel has already unveiled its Skylake Y, U, H, and S processors at the IFA 2015 technology event. This new chip that will run on Surface Pro 4 promises more power efficiency than the current chipsets powering the Surface Pro 3.
The next generation Skylake processor will be available in Core i3, Core i5, and Core i7 variants. Furthermore, the stylus that will come along with the Surface Pro 4 is expected to be more sensitive and touch-intuitive than that one for the Surface Pro 3. The new tablet will sport the improved text recognition feature from Windows 10 to allow users make the best out of stylus on Surface Pro 4.
The Surface Pro 4 will have a larger battery unit. The tablet will have a longer battery life because of the power efficient Skylake chip.
It is speculated that the two variants - 12 inch and 14 inch - will have a starting price of $800 and $950, respectively. The new tablet is expected to be launched together with Microsoft's Lumia flagships and the Band 2 smartwatch on Oct. 19.
