The 12.9-inch iPad Pro is coming out not only to rev up the sliding the tablet business by Apple but obviously to deal with the Surface Pro 4 by Microsoft. The object is to kill the soon-to-come Windows 10 tablet.

As a mobile device geared and optimized for professionals, the high-end iPad Pro specs and features center on productivity and below are the so-called iOS tablet capabilities that could kill the Surface Pro 4:

Screaming display

In order to attain optimum productivity, the iPad Pro needs to convince that like hybrid Pro 4 it can perform the functions of a regular laptop and perhaps replace it in most occasions. To start with, Apple is said to stretch the iPad Pro screen to near 13-inch or 12.9-inch to be exact. With that screen size, Apple is taking the first step to convince MacBook Air users that the iPad Pro is a good alternative.

Split window and typing accessories

The iPad Pro will run on iOS 9 and the new software, according to Apple, is hardcoded with a new feature called Split Window. As the name implies, Split Window will permit the simultaneous viewing and running of two applications that will allow users to work on two things at the same time using the iPad Pro.

And to really make the biggest of the iPads as a productivity tool, Apple has reportedly designed a case cover for the giant tablet that will also double as a keyboard.

Stylus

Another input instrument that the iPad Pro will reportedly support is a stylus that according to BGR is laced with the Force Touch technology to give the tool layered features. But the iPad Pro stylus is rumored as not part of the retail box, meaning users will have to pay extra cash to enjoy the feature.

LTE chip

Productivity always involves uninterrupted access to wireless broadband and iPad Pro users are assured of this thanks to the device's integrated LTE chip. This ensures that where Wi-Fi is not available, the iPad Pro with LTE remains connected.

Basic 64GB built-in memory

To accommodate extensive production activities, the iPad Pro internal memory will start at 64GB and it is highly likely that a 128GB variant is part of the rollout  or even twice of such capacity in future iterations.

Apple will likely introduce the 12.9-inch iPad Pro in September or October but the release date is not expected until November 2015.
