Videogame fans are at the edge of their seats waiting for the release date of "Left 4 Dead 3." Unfortunately, not much has been confirmed about the status of the game other than it will be released earlier than "Half Life 3."

According to Movie Pilot, there is a higher chance that Valve is prioritizing "Left 4 Dead 4" to "Half Life 3." The publication pointed out that the latter has reportedly been in production for several years.

Insiders claimed that the story, as well as the gameplay has been completed. Unfortunately, there were only approximately ten people working on "Half Life 3," so it is probably safe to say that the game will not be released soon.

It was also pointed out that the developers are focused on Bioware's "Mass Effect 3." They allegedly did not want to make the same mistake and release a half-baked game which would only result to backlash from fans.

The author held that "Left 4 Dead 3" is very different from "Half Life 3," in the sense that the former aims to tie up loose ends left unanswered by its predecessor. The game would only serve as a continuation.

Last August, insiders told Segment Next that "Half Life 3" has a target release date for the last quarter of 2017 or the first quarter of 2018, which could only mean that "Left 4 Dead 3" may be out by 2016.

The source added that the game will take place one month after the infection and at the day of the infection." It was also said that there will be six campaigns in the next installment: Crash-land, Impasse, Inquisitor Land, Early Destination, Cliff-Hanger and No Mercy.
