"Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." season 3 will have Grant Ward take up a possible new identity and the full plot details of its premiere episode.
Season 3 of the show will focus on Phil Coulson (Clark Gregg) and his ragtag team of S.H.I.E.L.D. agents trying to save the world from HYDRA and other rogue organization, at the same time, to find and protect people with super powers and convince them to join S.H.I.E.L.D. in order to use their abilities for good.
The first teaser trailer of "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." season 3 features a first look at Daisy Johnson (Chloe Bennet) in her new "Quake" outfit, the emergence of people with powers and Inhuman villain Lash (Matthew Willig). Marvel and ABC released the synopsis of the premiere episode, titled "Laws of Nature," as Coulson and his team discovered a new Inhuman, who is scared and confused as to what is happening to him becuase of his uncontrollable powers. S.H.I.E.L.D. will also come face-to-face with a rival organization who are also looking for super powered beings, Screenrant reported
A subplot in the premiere episode will focus on Leo Fitz's (Iain De Caestecker) search for answers as to what happened to his bestfriend and teammate Jemma Simmons (Elizabeth Henstridge), after the events of season 2. Simmons was last seen being absorbed by the Kree Monolith in the season 2 finale, leading to several theories and speculations that she could comeback with superpowers or possibly become evil in the show.
As for the new organization, it is hinted that Coulson's team could be facing the "Advanced Threat Containment Unit" in the season premiere, led Rosalind Price (Constant Zimmers).
In other news, Grant Ward (Brett Dalon) could take on a new alias in "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." season 3. Ward in the show will now lead HYDRA as he now holds a dangerous grudge against Coulson and the rest of the group for killing Kara Palamas/Agent 33 (Maya Stojan) in season 2.
There have been several speculations and theories that Grant Ward could be the show's version of Taskmaster due their similarities as highly skilled fighters and mercenary backgrounds. Taskmaster also train villains similar as to how Ward trained both Daisy and Kara in the show, and has the same B-level access to S.H.I.E.L.D. alongside Daisy in the comics, Moviepilot reported.
"Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." season 3 will premiere on September 29 on ABC.
