New "Arrow" season 4 updates hints John Constantine's role and the possibility that Felicity Smoak will be killed off within the show.
John Constantine (Matt Ryan) in "Arrow" season 4 will play an important role within Team Arrow as he will be responsible for bringing Sarah Lance (Caity Lotz) back from the dead in episode 5 using an unknown means of magic that is far better than the Lazarus Pit. It was hinted that the decision to resurrect Sarah lies in the hands of her sister, Laurel Lance/Black Canary (Katie Cassidy) as executive producer Greg Berlanti stated that this could be the heaviest and most emotional material they had for her.
The campaign to have John Constantine in "Arrow" TV series was first spearheaded by Stephen Amell who suggested to have crossover episode with "Constantine" in order to save the NBC series from cancellation.
Unfortunately, NBC shut down "Constantine" TV series which ultimately destroyed any plans for a season 2, but Amell and the showrunners made another suggestion to bring John Constantine in "Arrow" instead and as it turned out, the plan worked and audiences will get see him once more in season 4.
Co-showrunner Marc Guggenheim told Superhero Hype that Constantine is a "natural fit" for the show commenting the natural on-screen vibe between Amell and Ryan and he feels that the character was never forced to join the show, but was right to put him there in the first place. Guggenheim teased fans that they should watch out for Constantine in "Arrow" season 4 as his presence will change the course of the show.
In other news, several rumors are making rounds regarding the possible death of Felicity Smoak (Emily Bett Rickards) in "Arrow" season 4.
Both Oliver Queen (Amell) and Felicity Smoak left Star City after their battle with the League of Assassin's in season 3. They now lived a quiet life together in another city until a new threat emerge in the form of Damien Darhk (Neil McDonough).
A new promo revealed that both Laurel Lance and Thea Queen (Willa Holland) visited Oliver and Felicity urging them to comeback to Team Arrow. Oliver reluctantly agrees to go back and uses the alias of "Green Arrow" to defend the city. Damien Darhk showcased his power during their first encounter and orders his men to find Oliver and his allies.
It was speculated that Damien will likely kill Felicity at some point within the show as a form of retaliation against Oliver for interfering with his plans, Moviepilot reported.
However, Guggenheim stated that season 4 will likely see the strong relationship between Oliver and Felicity to the point that they will not break-up and leave each other.
"Arrow" season 4 will premiere on Oct. 7 on the CW Network.
