"The Flash" season 2 will have Wally West transform into Kid Flash and possible return of Harrison Wells within the show.
Executive Producer Andrew Kreisberg told Entertainment Weekly that Wally West (Keiynan Lonsdale) will likely assume the mantle of Kid Flash sooner that it was originally planned. Kreisberg shared how Wally West in the show will be exactly like how Roy Harper/Arsenal (Colton Haynes) was in the "Arrow" TV series, a troubled kid who will eventually martures into a better person after experiencing first hand of what a hero does for everybody and after he bonds with the S.T.A.R. Labs team.
It was rumored that this version of Wally West will be a resident of Earth 2 as the son of Joe West (Jesse L. Martin) and sister to Iris (Candice Patton). Barry Allen will explore other alternate worlds within season 2 and he will eventually grow further not just as The Flash, but as a person in general, facing new threats and challenges during the course of the show.
Aside from Wally West's transformation, co-producer Gabrielle Stanton confirmed that Harrison Wells (Tom Cavanaugh) will return in "The Flash" season 2 and this version of the character will be from another timeline or world in the show, ComicBook reported.
Harrison Wells was first introduced in first season as the founder of S.T.A.R. Labs and inventor of the Particle Accelerator. During the pilot episode the Particle Accelerator exploded, which caused a huge amount radiation that gave several people super powers and Barry Allen to become The Flash. It was soon discovered that Wells is actually Eobard Thawne/Reverse-Flash (Matt Letscher) in disguise and that the "real" Harrison Wells was killed by him several years before the events of season 1. Reverse-Flash molded and manipulated Barry into becoming The Flash in order to return to his original timeline.
CW Network recently released an extended trailer for "The Flash" season 2 which features new characters like Jay Garrick (Teddy Sears) Patty Spivot (Shantel VanSaten) and Atom Smasher (Adam "Edge" Copeland).
"The Flash" season 2 will premier on Oct. 7 on the CW Network.
