Derek Hough from ABC's "Dancing With the Stars" jumps backstage with his award for Outstanding Choreography at the 65th Primetime Emmy Awards in Los Angeles September 22, 2013.

The exceptional two-episode "Dancing with the Stars" season 21 premiere commenced on Sept. 14, Monday and the celebration progressed on Tuesday.

According to Celeb Dirty Laundry, the latest episode was just a replay of the first dances of the couples with a bit of new footage from rehearsals and behind the scenes.

Victor Espinoza, who failed to impress using his salsa routine, explained his difficulties including the fact that he was a full head shorter than Karina Smirnoff, his partner. He also had some memory issues.

Espinoza said, "People don't know that jockeys have so many concussions, they have short memory, which is disaster to learn how to dance the steps."

On the other hand, Valentin Chmerkovskiy and Tamar Braxton had 23 points because of their high-speed quick step for the audience. While they succeeded, Braxton said behind the scenes that she was not amused by her performance and her star partner calmed her down by telling her she "killed it."

However, Older crowd Chaka Khan, Paula Deen and Gary Busey did not impress with their partners, but they got better scores than Kim Zolciak.

A promo behind rehearsals revealed the pre-show fears for the contestants and the mediocre-scoring reality star appeared to offer for her jitters priory as she said to her partner Tony Dovolani, "This is the most overwhelming thing ever. I'm out."

Later speaking to E! News, Zolciak, who cried after her performance, said, "I think that yes, I get the dance, but letting go is a very hard thing to do for somebody who is in such control...it's something I need to work on. I'll work on it until I win."

On the contrary, there were success stories for other dancers such as Vine star Hayes Grier, Andy Grammer, and Alek Skarlatos. They all came out of the cocoon and handled ballroom dancing.

While married couple Carlos and Alexa Pena Vega appeared nervous during the competition, Carlos got better marks than his wife.

The hottest performances for the night were from Bindi Irwin paired with Derek Hough and Nick Carter paired with Sharna Burgess. The two couples tied for the best scores of the night.

Sharing a sweet moment behind the scene with Irwin, Hough told her, "Honestly, you're changing my life with just your energy and who you are as a person."

Fans should watch out for the next two-night event in the second week as the couples train for two different dances in a single week, the first being for the ABC reality competition.
