Famous singer Selena Gomez proudly showed off her body in a black one-piece swimsuit on Sept. 19, Saturday after gaining renewed confidence over body-shaming comments thrown at her.
Earlier this month, the young artist received negative feedback for her nude photo in her new "Revival" album cover. According to MTV, critics began pointing out that Gomez gained some weight in the said photo which is a fact that the "The Heart Wants What It Wants" artist confirmed in various interviews.
Although the "Same Old Love" singer admitted that the picture was photoshopped, support from her fans poured out. Most of Gomez' supporters' pointed out that the pop artist still looked incredibly flawless and they are all excited for her new album.
Before her nude album cover, the "Come & Get It" artist already showed some skin in a separate occasion. In February, she posed topless for the cover of V Magazine.
In a Miami beach, Gomez beat the summer heat and the critics by flaunting in a skimpy high-cut swimsuit. In addition to her sexy looks, the 23-year-old artist also revealed a new tattoo of the om symbol in the higher part of her thigh.
According to fashion critics, the said swimwear that the "Good for You" singer wore is a testament to the rising popularity of the high-cut one-piece bathing suit. According to US Weekly, multiple celebrities such as Kendall Jenner, Rihanna and Beyonce had been spotted wearing the 1990s' hip bone-baring swimsuits on their trips to the beach.
When asked about her response to the body-shaming critics who continue to throw negative comments at her, Gomez asserted that she is very much aware of her weight gain and does not care about it. The 23-year-old singer also said that she was shocked for being body-shamed for the first time but currently feels empowered and confident of her body.
Selena Gomez' new "Revival" album will be released on Oct. 9.
