Chris Evans, Jared Leto Tapped To Join Tate Taylor’s 'The Girl On The Train'

Jared Leto and Chris Evans were tapped for Tate Taylor’s upcoming film “The Girl on the Train.”

"Captain America" actor Chris Evans and "Suicide Squad" actor Jared Leto have been reported to join Tate Taylor's upcoming film "The Girl on the Train."

Evans and Leto have been eyed by Taylor and the producers of the thriller film for the male supporting roles, joining Emily Blunt, Haley Bennett, and Rebecca Ferguson, as per Variety. Evans would play Ferguson's husband while Leto would play Bennett's husband. Sources also told the publication that the actors are currently in talks for the film and schedules and finances are being fixed.

Based on Paula Hawkins' book of the same name, "The Girl on the Train" centers on a woman who was confounded by her recent divorce, leading her to contrive on an apparently perfect couple who lives in a house that her train passes everyday, as per Empire Online. In the process, the married couple leaves her puzzled in mystery and things change when she finds out something dreadful.

Evans is known for his roles as Captain America in "The Avengers" and Marvel's "Captain America" films. He also shared the big screen with Alice Eve in his film "Before We Go." He is set to appear in Joe Russo and Anthony Russo's "Captain America: Civil War" and Marc Webb's "Gifted."

Meanwhile, Leto is known for his roles in "Chapter 27," "Mr. Nobody," and "Dallas Buyers Club." He is set to appear in David Ayer's "Suicide Squad."

Along with Taylor set to helm the film, "Chloe" writer Erin Cressida Wilson is on board to pen the screenplay of the film. meanwhile, "Wanted" and "Drive" producer Marc Platt is set to produce the film.

With "The Girl on the Train" in its early phase of development, additional details on the plot, cast, characters, and exact release date are yet to be revealed.

Directed by Taylor, "The Girl on the Train" is slated to premiere in 2016.
