Samsung Galaxy S4 Gets Custom ROM Android Lollipop 5.1.1 Update

Samsung Galaxy S4 recently got the Android Lollipop 5.1.1 update through a custom ROM release.

This custom ROM will enable the device to receive new features and improvements for Galaxy S4. This will work for both, unlocked versions and under carriers according to Wccf Tech.

This method is for those users who want to use the current version of Android operating system without waiting for its official release. Team Radium is the master mind behind this custom ROM for Galaxy S4, and it was made using the Cyanogen Mod. The ROM developer will bring the following features to the ROM:

1.      New Settings menu

2.      New animations

3.      Custom battery status style

4.      Gesture anywhere

5.      Status bar settings

6.      Enable or disable recent floating action button

7.      Security patches

8.      Performance enhancements

Before the users make the changes to their ROM, they must remember the following things:

1.     The device must be rooted

2.    There must be at least a 70 percent charge

3.    Qualified Galaxy S4 unit with model number GT-I9505 will only accept this ROM. Else, the device will be bricked

The users can follow these steps to install the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop via Cyanogen Mod custom ROM:

1.     Download the Radium Android 5.1.1 Lollipop custom ROM along with Google Apps.

2.     Place the downloaded files in the PC using an USB cable.

3.     Copy the downloaded files to device's micro SD card.

4.     Back up all the stored data of the device, to avoid losing it.

5.    Disconnect the device and reboot it in Recovery Mode.

6.   Tap on "Install zip from SD card."

7.   Tap on the Google Apps zip file.

8.   The device will restart along with the custom ROM.
