Sony Xperia M2, Sony Xperia M2 Aqua, and Sony Xperia M2 Dual will receive Android 5.1.1 Lollipop OS soon.

The Android 5.1.1 Lollipop update was already launched for Sony Xperia Z1, Z Ultra, and Z1 Compact. It was also released for Sony Xperia T2 Ultra and Sony Xperia C3.

Sony Xperia M2 series currently has the Android 4.4.4 KitKat operating system and the users are facing a number of issues due to the non-updation of the operating system, according to Xperia Blog.

Android Lollipop 5.1.1 is bound to bring a lot of new functionalities and improvements in the device post upgrade. The LinkedIn App will be integrated with the Contacts and also the Calendar application. The speed and accuracy of the device will become superior. The auto mode will be enhanced and the enterprise support for Xperia will also be enhanced.

Bluetooth and Wi-Fi can be accessed through the shortcut menu, according to BGR. The update will also provide the Sony Smart Watch 3 aid in the device. One of the major fixes from this upgrade will be the Stage Fright fix. This bug is being plaguing many smart phones recently. It attacks the device through a normal MMS video. Once the hackers get the access to the device, it can prove to be really troublesome for the users.

Android Lollipop 5.1.1 update is expected to come to Sony Xperia Z4, Xperia Z3+, Xperia Z3+ Dual, Xperia Z3, Xperia Z2, Xperia Z, Xperia ZR, and also Xperia Tablet Z among others.

To check for the update, the users can follow the steps: Settings > About phone > System update > Check for updates.

The phone must be charged to at least 50 percent and connected to a nearby Wi-Fi connection for quick installation.
