Android Marshmallow will start rolling out from October 5

According to many reports, the search giant Google will announce two new Nexus smartphones, Nexus 5 2015 (Nexus 5X) and Nexus 6 2015 (Nexus 6P), on September 29. It is expected that the two Nexus devices will come preinstalled with Android Marshmallow.

The Nexus 6 and Nexus 5 (2013) will be the first handsets to get Android Marshmallow update from October 5, GSMArena reported.

Telus, Canada's second largest cellphone provider, has released the software update schedule for the users, according to Tech2. As per the schedule, Canadian users of the Nexus 6 and Nexus 5 will get the forthcoming Android Marshmallow update on October 5. However, the new update could arrive in the United States soon after September 29.

Google Nexus 6 was announced on October 16, 2014 with Android 5.0 Lollipop onboard. The Nexus 5 successor was made available for purchase from October 29. On the other hand, owners of Nexus 5 got Android 5.0 Lollipop update on November 12.

In addition to the Google Nexus 6 and Google Nexus 5, Asus Nexus Player and HTC Nexus 9 tablet are the other Nexus handsets that have already got the Android Marshmallow Developer Preview. Therefore, the upgrade will be first made available to these Nexus devices before the Android Marshmallow is released to other OEMs.

Some of the features of Android Marshmallow include new ways to handle Web links, integrated Android Pay mobile payment system, new Chrome feature, Google Now on Tap feature and revamped app permissions. Other additions include support for USB Type-C ports, auto backup and restore for apps, new app drawer, adoptable storage devices and a new memory manager.
