The electronics manufacturer Motorola may be among the first manufacturers to update to Android Marshmallow. Reports suggest that the Moto X Pure Edition (2015), Moto X (2014), Moto G (3rd Generation) and Moto G (2nd Generation) will get the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update. On the other hand, the Moto X (first generation) and Moto G (first generation) may not get this latest update.
It is expected that the Android Marshmallow will be released this fall. Nexus devices will receive the Android Marshmallow update first. According to reports, the tech giant Google will unveil two Nexus smartphones, Nexus 5 2015 (Nexus 5X) and Nexus 6 2015 (Nexus 6P), at a special event in San Francisco on September 29.
According to Christian Post, Google may also launch the Android Marshmallow at its September 29 event for its two Nexus smartphones. It is expected that the two new Nexus devices will feature cameras equipped with laser autofocus, front-facing audio speakers, USB Type C ports and fingerprint scanners.
The search giant has already rolled out the third version of the developer's edition of Marshmallow. It means that the forthcoming Android operating system will be available soon.
However, it will take time for Android M to reach customers. Manufacturers will require to integrate the latest Android into their handsets. After that, domestic wireless service providers will require to run the mandatory soak tests before rolling out Android 6.0 Marshmallow on a public scale.
Rumors are doing the rounds that Motorola may decide to not update older handsets to Android Marshmallow. According to a Geek Snack report, the Moto X (first generation) as well as Moto G (first generation) may not receive the Android Marshmallow update.
