Ridley Scott Reveals 'Prometheus 2' Title and Says It Will Be Connected to Alien franchise.

Award-winning director Ridley Scott revealed that the "Prometheus" sequel will be closely tied to the "Alien" franchise.

Scott told HeyUGuys that "Prometheus 2" will be titled "Alien: Paradise Lost," which will be based on John Milton's book of the same title.

"Paradise Lost" is an epic poem consisting of ten books with more than ten thousand lines of verse all written by the 17th century poet Milton.

It basically deals with the Fall of Man and Adam and Eve's loss of innocence leading to their expulsion from the Garden of Eden.

In the same way, the "Alien: Paradise Lost" will explore the origin of the Alien race. Scott said that the film will reveal why and how the Alien was created. He added that it will be connected to his Alien creation 30 years ago.

The acclaimed director is currently busy promoting his Oscar-worthy film "The Martian" starring Matt Damon.

The movie is about the astronaut Mark Watney who got left behind in Mars as he was presumed dead after a fierce storm. What happens next is a story of survival and a daring rescue mission to bring home the Damon.

In this review from The Washington Post of "The Martian," you will be reminded of the greatness of Scott as he brings science front and center to the audience without intimidating them.

This is pretty much what he did back when he created "Alien" in 1979. He has mastered the suspension of disbelief by immersing viewers to the world he has made and making it believable.

Scott is known for his films "Alien," "Blade Runner," "Gladiator," "Black Hawk Down," "Hannibal," "Matchstick Men," and "American Gangster."

"The Martian" hits theaters on October 2 while "Alien: Paradise Lost" is slated to be released on May 30, 2017 according to IMDb.
