EXO member Lay may just be the next member of the Kpop band to leave SM Entertainment following Kris (Wu Yifan), Luhan and Tao (Huang Zitao). Multiple reports suggest that Lay was uncomfortable being the only Chinese member in EXO.

Fans of EXO were ecstatic when a poster circulated online announcing that Lay, Kris and Luhan will reunite for Bazaar Charity Night in China. SM Entertainment, however, was quick to slam down the rumors and confirm that the poster was fake and fan made. According to Koreaboo, Kris and Luhan were indeed invited to the event. Lay, on the other hand, reportedly had to decline the invitation because of his jampacked schedule.

Ever since Kris, Luhan and Tao left EXO, many fans have started to speculate that Lay will follow their footsteps and start his own career. It has also been rumored that he will eventually return to China and leave the group behind.

Speaking to All Kpop, Lay shared that although he is happy with the developments happening in his former band mates' career, he will not leave EXO. Lay explained that he already has a well thought plan of what he wanted to do with his career and will not return to China until he was able to achieve his goals. He said that he supports Kris, Luhan and Tao all the way but insisted that he wanted to do things differently.

When asked about the possibility of him going back to China, Lay wondered why the media was obsessed with asking the question. He pointed out that there was no reason to fixate about him returning. He explained that he will always be promoting the culture of China wherever in the world he is, adding that his heart will always be in his homeland.
